Coca Cola Chingón!

I’ve worked with lots of big names - chart topping musicians, A-List Hollywood stars, US Presidents, but none as big as “Coca Cola.” Truly international, and universal, it was exciting to step up and be a part of this historic brand, but weirdly, it felt natural.

Coke is a ubiquitous part of our cultural landscape, no need for background research. I know it by heart, like a Beatles melody or a Disney movie plot line.

The job came through the Buenos Aires-based production company Rocket To The Moon, and the Mexico City ad agency “Hello.” Could it get any better? Now, I’m shooting a campaign for Mexican Coke: the best Coke, the true Coke, in the glass bottle.

The campaign tag line is “ChingOFF/ChingON.” I looked this up in the Urban Dictionary, and here is what it explains, “Chingon is a Mexican word used for multiple purposes. It comes from verb Chingar that can be used in several ways. Chingon can mean ‘Nice, Cool, or Great.’ It's the same as saying, ‘Fuckin' Great.’”

Thank you to Hernán Ibarra of Hello for having me along on this chingon shoot!
