What Is Punk?

Punk music was banned from my high school in the early 80s, so it’s fun to see my daughter’s elementary school book sale featuring a book called What Is Punk?. It’s written by Eric Morse, with clay-art dioramas illustrations by Anny Yi.

It’s a bit too simplistic for my taste but it’s fun to see some of the icon moments of punk history made out of clay, like The Stooges 1970 Cincinnati show in which Iggy Pop walked on the crowd (shown above - original photo by Tom Copi). And they give shout outs to important but less obvious acts, like Black Flag.
