We’ll Meat Again

Boundless gratitude for a regular client. The Guardian weekend magazine has been calling me for assignments for 19 years; in fact, I thought to look it up as my most recent shoot was with the same person as my first assignment for them!

When I met up with Alexandra Jamieson in 2005 she was a vegan blogger and cookbook writer, who had recently separated from her husband and co-producer, Morgan Spurlock.

I was asked to do a scenario of her preparing a kale-centered dish in her East Village apartment, but the more memorable one features her riding a bike on a snow covered rooftop.

Jamieson is still a game and playful sitter, with a narrative surprise for us, as she now incorporates meat into her diet. We met at her Williamsburg home, and even started with a step up on the roof.
