TIME-lapse Video

A timelapse video of the Chris Buck Sharing Economy cover shoot for Time Magazine, January 2015. This video timelapse was set-up by Carlos Jaramillo.

Here is an alternate set-up that we shot for this week’s Time Magazine cover (we ended up running a version of it as the story opener). My intern Carlos Jaramillo used my iPhone to shoot us a time-lapse video of the session (he also shot the picture of me directing the talent).

I’m pleased that the photo team at Time believed in my “clown car” idea enough to encourage us to execute it. People ask me what my philosophy for building this shot was, and it’s pretty simple: fill the car up with people, then add one more. A special thanks of course goes to the models, who were super patient and did a fantastic job of making a 6-hour shoot look like a spontaneous moment.
