UNEASY Spike Jonze

While preparing to publish UNEASY I contacted Spike Jonze via a mutual friend to see if he would write a piece for the book. I was thinking maybe a short essay as a foreword would be fun, but here is what he sent along instead:

“Don’t ever trust Chris Buck. I was 24, this was the first time I was shot by a ‘professional’ for a ‘professional’ magazine. He asked me to take my shirt off, and I didn’t want to, but he said, ‘If you’re uncomfortable, we don’t have to use it. We can try something else.’ So of course, I was uncomfortable, and we took about a hundred other shots, but this was the one he used. Chris Buck scarred me forever.”
